The game supports Google Play Games by which you can share your achievements and scores with other players.
Playing the game
Pitch wishes to get to his destination and is willing to swim forward, but he has a tendency to sink to the bottom. When he lands on the bottom the game is over and he will not get to his tropical beach. He needs your help to prevent him from sinking to the bottom so that he can keep on swimming.
The game starts when you press the play button. Pitch will swim to the location where you can give him his first boost. Here you will see an instrument for each key. Depending on the theme you have choosen (see themes) this instrument will look like an icy chimney, a trumpet or a guitar. The key that will give Pitch its first boost always be the key in the middle of the screen (the F). The game will show which instrument is active by showing a question mark on top of it, during which you will also hear the pitch of that instrument. After or during this demonstration you can play this note by pressing the right key. When you play the key when Pitch is above the instrument the sound will lift pitch up preventing him from landing on the bottom. When Pitch has gone past the instrument gravity will take over and Pitch will start to sink again. You can use the next instrument, which will be playing a different pitch, to give Pitch another boost. If you play the wrong key however, the active instrument shatters and will no longer be usable.
There is another trick to it. Besides telling the pitch of the instrument you need to correctly time the duration of the boost. If the boost is too short, Pitch will not reach the next instrument and sink to the bottom. If the boost is too strong Pitch will overshoot the next instrument but likely not make it to the instrument after that and again end up sinking to the bottom.
Training
For those who are not making any progress in the game there is the training mode. The training mode works pretty much the same as the regular game mode. However, Pitch now manages to swim just hard enough to not sink. Instruments will also no longer shatter if you press the wrong key. They will play the pitch of the key you haven chosen despite it being wrong or right. An check or cross icon indicates if the sound you have chosen matches the actual sound of the instrument.
Before you start the training you can pick which keys and octaves you wish to train.
Catching bubbles
In the title screen is a button with a small organ icon. This button will bring you to the organ mode, which is a screen where you are free to play the full octave of keys. The bubbles released by the organ pipes pop if Pitch touches them. After you catch 10 or more bubbles a counter is activated that shows how many bubbles you have caught.
Themes
There are three different themes in the game with different sounds and atmospheres. Look for themes on the main menu the select one of them.
Leaderboards and achievements
There are two leaderboards and thirteen achievements in the game. In Android you can find these in the Google Play Games service. You can use these services to share your scores and achievements with other players.
These are the two leaderboards:
There are seven pitch identification related achievements. The achievements can only be gained in the competitive game mode, not in the training mode.
There are six bubble catching achievements. Some of these achievements should maybe not be taken too seriously as they would take quit some time.
